Founded by Mawarni Adam, MARQETR began as a vision in 2015, an on-demand platform designed to help women and mothers access flexible employment, empowering them to care for their families while continuing to build their careers. In 2020, as remote work surged globally, that vision came to life. MARQETR officially launched and expanded its reach to welcome all professionals, connecting businesses with vetted marketing experts and an on-demand workforce.

By 2023, as the demand for freelance marketplaces shifted, MARQETR evolved once again... refining, reshaping, and reimagining its model to meet the changing needs of brands and creators. Guided by a renewed purpose to bring joy back into marketing through powerful storytelling and immersive experiences, MARQETR introduced three strategic creative arms: Marqetr Publishing, Marqetr Studios, and Marqetr Creations, each brought to life by our trusted network of approved freelancers.

​ MARQETR's milestones at a glance:
Dec 2020 : Founded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a 2-sided internet marketplace platform for businesses to connect to top marketing freelance talents.
Aug 2021 : Raised our first external funding via equity crowdfunding (ECF).
Sept 2022 : MARQETR Inc. was incorporated in the USA and the company shifted focus to North America for fundraising initiatives and basic operations.
Sept 2023 : Pivoted our business model to become a content production and marketing company focusing on Asian and Asian-American women, powered by top creative freelance talents.
Dec 2023 : Raised our second external funding. Operations fully shifted to NYC under a new brand name.
April 2025 : The marqetr brand reinstated and operations resumed under the founding name.
July 2025 : Marqetr Marketplace relaunched to welcome freelancers amid growing layoffs and rightsizing trend, followed by the creation and launch of Marqetr Studios.
Oct 2025 : Launched Marqetr Creations and Marqetr Publishing.
Nov 2025 : MARQETR returned to NYC under its own brand name and simplified operations.
